Your Mobile Expectations – BMW H2R Project
Lars Müller Publishers, Baden, 2008
145 x 210 mm, 320 pages

For the BMW H2R research project, a publication was prepared that consists of excerpts from two seminars held in 2006 and 2007 as well as conversations between Olafur Eliasson and a number of distinguished thinkers, such as architect and artist Yona Friedman, urban theorist Bart Lootsma, and BMW’s Head of Design Christopher Bangle.

This monograph focuses on making the process behind the art work into something that can be experienced. The compact book occupies a space somewhere between a dense educational primer and a richly illustrated documentation. Its readability is not so much the result of a smooth flow of words, but stems much more from a form of typography that strikingly illustrates the textual accents and excerpts within its pages and allows the reader the possibility of quickly skimming through the book.

Your Mobile Expectations was chosen by Stiftung Buchkunst as one of “Germany’s Most Beautiful Books 2008.”
