It started with a Kiss

German-Allied Love Affairs after 1945
Allied Museum Berlin, 2005

The exhibition focused on how the many instances of “fraternization” between former enemies were dealt with after the Second World War by both the Allies and their home societies as well as in Germany. Not only did the exhibition explain the administrative regulations and illuminate individual experiences, but it also depicted the social conflicts surrounding these relationships.

The exhibition’s design was a collaborative effort with the Berlin-based industrial designer Axel Kufus.
